NEW WORKSHOP: Resilient Leadership Presence

Resilient Leadership Presence with  Amanda Ridings, Edinburgh

Thursday, 4 October, 2012 Thursday, 15 November, 2012 Thursday, 17 January, 2013

This Resilient Leadership Presence programme will take place over 3 days between October 2012 and January 2013, in central Edinburgh.

In the programme, we will explore how we lose our centre in a variety of scenarios and practice recovery, so that we increase our resilience. You can expect to gain insight into your habits and patterns when under pressure, and you will be equipped to cultivate an alternative way of being when faced with demanding circumstances or charged situations. The broad approach will be:

Day 1: Collecting self, leading self
Day 2: Including others, leading in relationship

Day 3: The bigger picture, leading with perspective

In the intervals between the 3 workshop days, you have the opportunity to put your learning into practice, building your confidence in the impact of recovering centre in your challenging conversations. With more confidence, you can explore the practices more deeply in the next session, opening the possibility of fresh insights.

About you…

This programme will benefit leaders, coaches and other practitioners who wish to develop a steadier presence in the push and pull of their working life.

In experiencing the power of this approach, previous participants said:

‘The course has had a powerful impact on me. It has awakened something in me that I didn’t know existed and I am already noticing the benefits of it. Amanda’s openness, and clearly demonstrating the principles of the teaching through her own behaviour, encouraged participants to be open and to really engage.’

‘Very enjoyable ‘hands-on’ course. Lots of practical exercises that helped me to learn about myself and lots of exploring left to do.’

‘Much wisdom, of which we started to get some understanding through practical experience. Very clear explanations. Communal spirit was great, mainly due to the way the course was led. The start of more practice, investigating, experiencing.’

Participating in ‘Resilient Leadership Presence’ covers the ground needed to join Wendy Palmer’s Leadership Embodiment programmes. Leadership Embodiment draws on principles from martial arts and mindfulness to develop capacity to be present, confident, compassionate, and connected, even when pressured or stressed. Wendy is usually in the UK a couple of times a year. For more see: http://embodimentinternational.com

Resilient Leadership Presence October 2012 to January 2013

About Amanda…

I am an APECS accredited executive coach, a coach supervisor and an award- winning author. I am also a T’ai Chi instructor. Since January 2010, I have been training with Wendy Palmer, founder of Leadership Embodiment.

Website: www.originate.org.uk.

About the venue and costs…

The fees for the three-day workshop are:

  • £600 per person for those funding themselves; and
  • £900 for those funded by their organisation

For those repeating Leadership Embodiment level 1 (formerly Conscious Embodiment level 1), I can offer a 20% discount on these fees. It may be possible for those who are ‘repeating’ to participate in single days. Please contact me…

The workshop is non-residential. Coffee and tea will be provided, and there are many local options for buying lunch on the day.

What to expect and what to bring…

We will be moving around and will be making gentle physical contact with each other on hands, arms and back. You should wear comfortable clothes and flat, comfortable shoes or bare feet.

Our work will be mainly experiential, with opportunities to share learning after each activity.

Mostly…just bring yourself and be ready to explore and have fun!
