I qualified as a Coaching Supervisor with CSA in 2018 and as an Accredited Coach with Association for Professional Executive Coaches (APECS) in 2006. I have been coaching leaders since 1998 with The Centre for Creative Leadership, with The London Business School MBA programs from 2004 to 2012 and is currently a Coach for senior leaders with Executive Coaching Connections. As an experienced Executive Coach, Senior Leadership Team Facilitator, Trainer and Organization Development Consultant, I bring to my practice a wealth of experience gained from over 25 years working in the private and public sectors including financial services, pharma, consultancy, retail, hi-tech, hotels and the NHS.
I hold a leadership role as Trustee of Surrey Family Mediation Services and Chairs their Operations Committee. I am an Applied Psychologist and combine a strong focus on helping my clients to achieve results and optimizing performance in their roles with empathy and understanding of how context affects outcomes. I am accredited and very experienced in the use of many psychometric instruments for assessment and development of organizational leadership and culture.
My areas of interest include supporting managers and senior leaders in transition, building organizations’ capacity for leadership, teamwork and cross-boundary working, resolving workplace disputes through mediation and psychometric profiling for developing individual, team and organizational understanding and development.
I am currently writing a book on Executive Coaching using Transactional Analysis as a framework for personal change and am studying to become a qualified TA organizational practitioner. I am passionate about the value that TA can add to the personal and professional development of my clients. I use TA frameworks and models to plan and guide my practice and also directly with my clients to develop understanding of their impact in relationships that are key to effectiveness in their role.
My approach is characterized by a powerful combination of business experience and psychological understanding and expertise. There is no one set approach; I tailor coaching and supervision to reflect the style, strengths, personal agenda and context in which my individual client or team operates. I support clients to achieve sustainable change by challenging them to look at themselves and their context from a different perspective and to look critically at self-imposed barriers to success. Clients describe my style as engaging, challenging and supportive.
Central to how I supervise is my role in supporting the continuing professional and personal development of my supervisees in being authentic, self-aware and skilful. CSA puts this so elegantly and memorably in its strapline “Who you are is how you supervise”. Combine this authenticity and comfort with oneself with skill and you have enormous power as a Coach: as Marshall Goldsmith, a doyen of Executive Coaching said coaching enables people to “Be yourself with skill”.
I offer both one on one and group supervision sessions.
