Introduction

More Details

I've recently returned to the US (2023) after 40 years in Asia where I
designed and delivered leadership development programs for Fortune 50
companies, government agencies, and local companies in South East Asia.
I started coaching in 1998 and have been a certified coaching supervisor since 2019. I was an active member in the Asian coaching community serving on the Executive Board of the ICF Singapore Chapter from 2014 to 2022 and was the President of the chapter from 2016 to 2017. During my time on the board the chapter grew from 250 to over 1,000 members, becoming the largest ICF chapter in Asia.
Before becoming an Executive/Leadership Coach, I worked to help leaders be more effective through the training courses I designed and delivered. My passion for leadership development started early in my professional life while working as a Medical Sociologist in Departments of Psychiatry at two medical colleges, the Rutgers Medical School and then the
Medical College of Wisconsin, where I was the Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Social Psychiatry. While there I was involved in a number of studies looking at the incidence of psychopathology in previously undiagnosed populations. One of these studies looked at the
impact of work-life on the psychological health of employees in various organizations. I shifted my professional focus to Organization Design/Development and Leadership as a consequence of
the results of a 5-year study which showed that leadership and organization experiences can have a significant impact on the psychological well-being of organizational members and that impact even extended to their family members.
Shifting my focus to Organization Design/Development and Leadership, I taught university level courses in the United States and then in Singapore when I moved there in 1984. After arriving in Singapore I began working as an OD consultant and corporate leadership trainer, first for the
Singapore government at the National Productivity Board and then with the Singapore Institute of Management. In 1991 I transitioned to a regional position as a Partner with a British consulting firm, PA Consulting Group, responsible for the Management Development Practice in Asia,
overseeing 7 country offices. In 2000 I transferred, as SVP (Asia), to one of PA’s subsidiaries, Cubiks, which focused on developing on-line psychometric assessment tools and services.
In 2003 I started my own firm, LeAD Consulting Group Pte. Ltd., focusing on Leadership Assessment and Development and Executive Coaching. I continue to serve coaching and supervision clients in
Viet Nam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore from my home in Vienna Virginia via Zoom.
