I offer reflective and creative supervision to coaches seeking to deepen their learning and self-understanding in order to better serve their clients.
My husband and I live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in a sunny apartment with many plants. Who I am as a supervisor is no different from who I am as a mature and complex human being. This includes extensive education and training, immigrant grandparents, art-making, grandmothering and many years of formal Zen practice. In individual and group supervision work, I am guided by the wants and needs of my supervisees. In responding to those needs, I draw on over thirty years as a coach with diverse life experiences and professional education and experience in adult learning and development. My resources are eclectic and I may offer a poem or picture to stimulate thought, a model or theory for a different perspective, or a traditional folk tale to help us consider the human elements of our situations and selves. As group facilitator, I offer structure and guidance to group processes. I bring an orientation to reflective adult learning to support the growth of coach's self-knowledge, skills and abilities.
As a lifelong learner with a wide-ranging curiosity, I research and publish to strengthen and support the professional field. Publications include book chapters on ethics in coaching, a case study on the coaching/psychotherapy boundary; the impact of life events on coaches and their coaching; and book chapters on adult learning theories in coaching, reflective learning for coaches, coaching in the adult workplace and trends in coaching related research. I co-edited Innovations in Leadership Coaching Research and Practice and was lead editor for Coaching Supervision: Voices from the Americas.
