Michael Sanson is an experienced executive coach who since 2000 has worked in executive education programs and team development processes with individuals and groups from all over the world. He helps clients gain insight and understanding that can be applied in their professional and personal lives, using reflective processes and experiential learning. He draws on his extensive experience in this role, as well as his own professional and personal transitions during a varied career.

Michael is currently a Senior Leadership Consultant for INSEAD’s three global campuses where he has provided leadership coaching regularly since 2008. He relocated from Boston to Doha in the autumn of 2019. During the prior six years in Boston, Michael coached on executive education programs at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School. Before Boston, he was based in Mexico City from 2006-13, where he taught leadership coaching at EGADE Business School, in parallel with his ongoing work in Europe. From 1998 until 2006 Michael lived in Bern, Switzerland, developing his craft as a professional coach on the MBA and executive education programs at IMD in Lausanne. He maintains a private coaching practice in which he works with senior executives from a wide array of countries and industries, and also provides coaching supervision to fellow practitioners.

Born and raised in London, Michael has moved around the world over the last two decades in collaboration with his wife of 23 years, a career diplomat. They are blessed by being the parents of four sons.

Professional Qualifications

Michael’s credentials include a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, an MA from Oxford University and professional qualifications in Coaching, Chartered Accountancy and Corporate Treasury. He holds a Professional Certified Coach credential with the International Coach Federation and is an Accredited Coaching Supervision (CSA).
