Introduction

As your prospective partner in coaching supervision, I'm incisive yet warm, with keen antennae for the heart of an issue, parallel process, and the deeper patterns ‘in play’.

More Details

I bring a calm presence to my supervision sessions, drawing on both my personal experience in senior roles in organisations and the breadth of client scenarios I've encountered as an astute and experienced APECS accredited master executive coach. This informed perspective of the systems in which your coaching clients operate creates potential for offering insight into your case-work.

My work is shaped by two key disciplines, Dialogue and Leadership Embodiment. These practices inspire me to create the conditions for conversations that are rich, thought-provoking and productive. This underpins everything I do.

In all my work I seek to balance support and challenge to create a healthy environment for growth and to work at the interface between the spiritual and the worldly. Over time, I've come to believe that personal development isn't about acquiring more knowledge, tools and techniques. Instead, it rests on increasing our capacity to put what we know into practice, especially when the chips are down. This premise is at the heart of my approach.

In supervision, I aim to support you in:

- Gaining perspective, reflecting on your practice, and accessing your deeper wisdom to think creatively and courageously about your impact;

- Developing your capacity to acknowledge and celebrate your good practice and the work that delights you; and

- Continuing to expand and refine your awareness, and to make positive changes in your practice.

I've published two books. Both give a flavour of my style and approach. The first won a 'Nautilus' award in the category of conscious business and leadership: 'Pause for Breath: bringing the practices of mindfulness and dialogue to leadership conversations'. The second, Weekly Leadership Contemplations, is a collection of short pieces that invite you to reflect on your leadership experiences and practice."

"A Head of OD, in group supervision for internal coaches wrote: ""I really appreciate the calm you bring into the room. It creates a serenity and sense of safety which for me is important in working with a bunch of coaches. I felt you worked with us not only as a group of coaches, but also as the individuals we are, tapping in to everyone's uniqueness, and this was very rewarding to see, hear and be part of. You held the space lightly, and I was reminded of the leading ballet dancer catching the ballerinas, with strength and softness."

An experienced coach wrote: "Amanda's approach to coaching supervision is completely different to my previous experience, and is thoughtful, gentle, person centred, and at the same time, stretching and challenging. My best analogy is that is like being pinned to a chair with a butterfly touch, while she asks you the most challenging of questions with a beatific smile on her face. While her careful contracting ensure that she doesn't go to places without invitation, there is also very little wriggle room, to ensure that the coach does the best they can in the interests of their clients."

An executive coach wrote: "You have laser beam perception, light years faster than anyone I know. You are fearless and persistent and yet ask questions with care generosity and empathy.""
